ESMAP Instrumental in Supporting World Bank Rogun Hydropower Project

The World Bank approved a US$350 million International Development Association (IDA) grant to help Tajikistan finance the completion of the Rogun Hydropower Plant. The project will improve the country’s access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity in Tajikistan and Central Asia.
ESMAP has been instrumental in developing the project with a US$400,000 grant to enable due diligence and finance preparatory activities, and a US$300,000 grant to ensure project readiness for financing.
