The World Bank and the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program, in partnership with the Agence Francaise de Development, International Solar Alliance, IRENA, and Sustainable Energy for All, developed the Sustainable Renewables Risk Mitigation Initiative (SRMI).   SRMI aims to support countries in developing sustainable and bankable programs that attract private investment and reduce reliance on public finances while maximizing the benefits to societies and economies. 

The new SRMI report A Sure Path to Sustainable Renewable Energy: Maximizing Socioeconomic Benefits Triggered by Renewables has been developed to outline the steps and entry points for increasing the socio-economic benefits of renewable energy programs with input from the private sector, governments, and investors. This launch event will gather stakeholders from governments, IPPs, donors, international agencies, and financiers to explore the opportunities that socioeconomic benefits and gender inclusion offer for renewable energy projects.
