Participants learned firsthand from the World Bank team behind the Hydropower: Unveiling the Socioeconomic Benefits report outlining key findings and strategies to harness these benefits through policy and planning. Engaged with experts from The Philippines, Brazil and Zambia, as they shared their experiences, success stories and best practices that can be replicated.
Hydropower projects create new employment opportunities in construction and operation, as well as in industries supporting the hydropower sector. It also contributes to social development by enhancing educational opportunities, fostering skill development and diversification, and introducing new services and infrastructure.
