On April 9, The World Bank's ESMAP - Energy Sector Management Assistance Program & Extractives Global Director Demetrios Papathanasiou, Chandrasekar Govindarajalu (ESMAP Manager), Dolf Gielen (Hydrogen Lead), Silvia Carolina Lopez Rocha (Regulation expert), and int'l leaders convened at the International Hydrogen Congress in Colombia and shared the experiences of developing countries on their journey to accelerate clean hydrogen deployment.
On April 11, H4D held its 3rd Hydrogen for Development Partner's Meeting and Stakeholders' Forum which brought together leading representatives from government institutions, the private sector, research institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
At this time, the H4D event focused on Colombia. Ongoing clean hydrogen activities of partners were presented and an update on the H4D work program was provided.
Ongoing World Bank activities in support of clean hydrogen projects were discussed, and views on pathways and actions to advance a clean hydrogen economy in client countries were gathered. The 10 GW Hydrogen Lighthouse Initiative was introduced to H4D partners and stakeholders.
The World Bank's ESMAP - Energy Sector Management Assistance Program and H4D Partnership stand ready to continue supporting hydrogen projects in the region with favorable financing and are actively looking for public and private sector partners to bring clean hydrogen projects to the investment stage.
In this context, holding the H4D meeting in Colombia was a clear sign of The World Bank's commitment to the country and the region.
