Pacific Women in Power: Women’s Employment in the Pacific Power Sector – Baseline Report 

Data highlights: Women make up less than 19% of employees in energy utilities, primarily in administrative roles. Only 5% of technical positions are held by women. Women's representation in management is under 22%. Among managers and engineers already working in the sector, 87% believe a woman can perform as well as a man in a leadership role in the energy sector.

During this PROBLUE-ESMAP webinar participants heard an overview of the Seawater Air-Conditioning (SWAC) technology, shared experiences from existing facilities in the developed world and learned about feasibility studies for three SWAC facilities in the Caribbean. The event included a discussion on next steps for possible implementation.

This knowledge exchange aimed at sharing best practices and lessons learned from both international and local experts and help participants develop Action Plans to facilitate the development of FPV in their country, particularly focused on nearshore, freshwater and hybrid FPV.
