ESMAP, in partnership with the Korea Program for Operational Knowledge (KPOK), co-organized the Knowledge Exchange on Floating Solar from October 14-18, 2024, in South Korea. Collaborating with Korea Water Resource Corporation (K-water) and the Global Knowledge Exchange & Development Center (GKED), the event was fully supported by KPOK, a partnership between the WBG and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF) of the Republic of Korea. The exchange aimed to share best practices and lessons from international and local experts, helping participants develop Action Plans for floating photovoltaic (FPV) projects, focusing on nearshore, freshwater, and hybrid FPV. Activities included workshops, site visits, and peer-to-peer sessions, covering technical, financial, and environmental aspects of FPV, along with technology developments and case studies. Participants, including government officials and task team leaders from WBG client countries, came from Benin, Togo, Thailand, Philippines, Armenia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Pakistan.
