All Tools

ESMAP has contributed significantly to the development of knowledge tools to guide decision-making about climate change mitigation and low carbon growth. Such modeling and planning tools help generate consensus on data and assumptions among a wide range of stakeholders, and the outputs provide a valuable evidence base upon which to define priorities and design policy responses. Demand from countries for these services is significant and growing, and ESMAP already has experience helping to implement these tools in 18 countries.

Tool for Rapid Assessment of City Energy (TRACE)

The Tool for Rapid Assessment of City Energy is a decision-support tool designed to help cities quickly identify under-performing sectors, evaluate improvement and cost-saving potential, and prioritize sectors and actions for energy efficiency (EE) intervention.

The Energy Forecastign Framework and Emissions Consensus Tool enables governments to make decisions which encourage economic growth while reducing green house gas emissions. The tool helps governments embark on low carbon growth by assessing the impact of policy choices and providing transparent analysis of various development scenarios.

 Marginal Abatement Cost Tool (MACTool)

The Marginal Abatement Cost Tool is a transparent and flexible software tool which provides an easy way to build marginal abatement cost curves, and calculate break-even carbon prices.

Hands On Energy Adaptation Cost Tool HEAT

Hands-on Energy Adaptation Toolkit has been designed to support  hands-on climate vulnerability and adaptation assessments of the energy sector. It provides a risk-based process to inform high-level decision-making by governments about how to adapt the energy sector to improve its resilience to climate variability and climate change.

The Model for Electricity Technology Assessment Tool facilitates the comparative assessment of the economic costs of more than 50 electricity generation and delivery technologies, including conventional generation options (thermal, hydroelectric, etc.), nonconventional options (renewables), and emerging options such as power storage and carbon capture and storage (CCS).

CFL

Large-Scale Residential Energy Efficiency Programs Based on Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs). This toolkit includes key implementation/operational aspects, such as economic analysis and financial analysis (including carbon financing), elements of program design, methodologies and survey instruments for market assessment and potential, procurement guidelines, technical specifications, bidding documents, consumer surveys, awareness campaign information, environmental and safety issues related to CFLs.
